Western Mystery Tour

History, mystery, haunted sites, chills & thrills, breathtaking views of the wild western slopes, delicious food and more thrown in for good measure when you explore the gritty heart of Australia’s first industrial hub & Colonial history.

We can’t give too much away, though – it’s a mystery!

First stop is Mitchells Ridge convict stockade, used during the 1830s for the construction of Victoria Pass. A beautiful spot with incredible views of the untamed western slopes, it is however shrouded in mystery, with tales of lost and found fortunes on the Bathurst gold fields, of craggy bushrangers and the tantalising ghost of Victoria Pass The Lady In Black.

Listen to the heartbreaking story of the Lithgow Valley Colliery explosion, told by Marion through the hologram at the Lithgow State Mine Museum.

Look out for some local wildlife and capture photographs of the glorious 360 degree view over the Lithgow Valley area from Hassans Walls Lookout.

Recharge your batteries & relax with a delicious lunch at Hartley Fresh cafe.

Step back in time with a guided tour around the Historic Hartley Village. Mosey around the colonial buildings, learn the heritage and experience the new holograms where Mary will describe what life was like nearly 200 years ago.

Complete the day with breathtaking views of the highest waterfall in the Blue Mountains, soaring sandstone cliffs, & view the Phenomena called Raleigh’s Scattering Blue light haze at ``Australia's Grand Canyon’’,  Govetts Leap at Blackheath in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Wilderness Area.
